Oh dear.....

So.... I screwed up..... again.... this time, I got the pay periods at work wrong. I thought if I started working after mat leave on the 10th, that I would get a full pay on the 27th.... but I didn't.... I only got paid for 1 week.... so that means for the month of Jan, we brought in WAY LESS than we did when I was on Mat leave..... and we have more bills..... but we are ok, kinda.... The bills that come out automatically from our account are all taken care of, as well as daycare. But some bills that we have to pay are late... I've never been in this situation before. I'm NEVER late on my bills. But this month, not only am I late, but it looks like I may not be able to pay them this month at all... in full that is. The new plan is to use what's left of our savings and pay half of each of the ones we can't pay in full. By next pay, we should be caught up and in the position to start working on the loan again.... Hopefully! Looks like we'll be eating a whole lot of toast, sandwiches, cereal, speghetti for supper over the next 2 weeks! That's ok. I still believe that someday, we'll be able to look back on this time and think "Wow. That was tough. But we made it through and we're fine now." I still believe that someday we'll be in a much better situation. I just have to get us there.

Made it through the holidays!

We made it through the holidays without putting ANYTHING on the credit card! That's amazing considering we were, and still are extremely short on cash. But I am back to work soon, so by the end of the month, things should be looking a little better. Then maybe I can work on paying the loan down. Right now there is nothing I can do except not use the credit card, and not spend money on things we don't need (although we've always been pretty good at those things....) Happy New Year everyone!
