So the Kijiji thing is not panning out so well just yet... As of last night I had 29 views to my ad, but no offers. I think it's because of a few things: 1) I listed it in my home town, which is pretty small. It would work better if I had posted it in a bigger area, which I will do the next time I plan on visiting one of the near-by cities. The other issue might be the size.
I ended up buying something off of Kijiji.... Jeans for my daughter :D. BUT she does need them, she is rapidly growing out of her jeans, AND they were only $5 with the tags still on. Usually I'd be paying around $20 for them, so I actually saved some $, because I would have had to buy jeans for her anyways.
I found a few more coupon sites, so I should be getting some more coupons soon. The plan is to keep a record of the savings I save with coupons and then deposit that much money into the student loan account. I am going to start that Dec 1st. I have no doubt that I will start that, but I am terrible at keeping up that kind of thing, so it will be pretty tough!
I have tons more things I could list, but it's just a matter of getting it all together. My place is quite small, and if I take everything out of their hiding places, I may end up on an episode of Hoarders.... :S I think I will clean out a cupboard and fill it with get rid of stuff, and I will use empty diaper boxes as well. That's where I am so far! :)

My first item is for sale!
I picked a pair of tattoo jeans to put up for sale first. I bought them a while ago, but needed to get them hemmed. I put them in my closet and forgot about them. I never even wore them, and now I don't think they fit. I haven't even tried them. I just figured if I didn't know I had them, then I didn't need them! I live in a fairly small town, so I may have to post in a bigger near by area, but we'll see! Wish me luck!

Not up to too much yet....
At this point, I'm trying to figure out what I want to sell first, and how I go about doing it. It sounds pretty easy, but it really isn't! I've never sold anything on e-bay before, and I've only sold a flat screen computer monitor on kijiji, and it pretty much sold itself... There is an art to wording your listing, taking pictures of the items, etc. But I haven't even gotten that far yet. It's hard to get started. Once I get my first sale, I have a feeling I'll be addicted! But I am finding it hard to get started. I'm going to have to pick something, and just go for it! Soon, soon. Hehe

The Plan
There is no real plan right now. Blogging about this is a new idea. In fact, I just came up with it last night. But I have been kicking around the idea of selling things on ebay or kijiji to make some extra money. Every little bit counts. I have never sold anything on ebay, and I've only sold one thing on kijiji, so I am really green to all of this. I am willing to go without some things to pay off the student loan. There isn't much I wouldn't well for the right price. However, I will not sell anything that causes my child to go without. And obviously, I am not willing to sell a kidney or anything drastic like that LOL I would sell my hair though... haha
I am also a big fan of coupons. But the problem with coupons, is the money that you save just gets spent on something else, and usually not bills or my student loan. I am thinking of keeping track of the money I save with coupons over the course of a month, and then taking that much money and paying that much towards my student loan.
So this blog will keep track of the process and hopefully someday I will be able to announce that my student loan will be paid off. The loan amount, by the way, is just under $66,000, plus interest of about $10 per day.... I'll give you a moment to digest that.....probably still haven't grasped that........Yep, now you know why I need to do this. I have been paying on it for years already, and really haven't paid much on principle, but $1000s on interest. So I need to do something quick so I can kick the interest in the butt. I guess this is my early New Years resolution.... :D

About this blog, and about me.
I am nearing 30 years of age, I have a baby girl, and a student loan debt that is larger than my mortgage. I cannot move to a bigger home, or have another child until this loan gets paid off, or at the very least, paid down. Don't get me wrong. The loan did it's job. It got me a university degree, and a good job. But the job doesn't make me wealthy by any means, and the debt is crushing us. No vacations, no house (we live in a trailor at the moment), no other children. We are making it, but barely. So this blog is not about complaining about my situation, its about recording the process of trying to pay it off a little faster.
